Lovely Lucy bought a new blue gown.
She wore it all around the town.
She tripped in the mud, now the gown is brown.
Lovely Lucy now wears a frown.
Laura’s Purse
Laura’s purse has lots of stuff,
A comb, a brush and a powder puff,
A pencil, a pen and a piece of fluff,
A watch, a glove and an old ear muff.
She needs a backpack for her stuff,
Because her purse isn’t big enough.
Dressing
There’s a little more to dressing
Than just putting on the clothes.
“This” has to go with “that”
And “these” must go with “those”.
It takes a little thinking
To get things to turn out right.
I’m glad pajamas don’t have to match
When I put them on at night.
What I Just Ate
I don’t know what I just ate.
Mom put something on my plate.
It looked like something I would hate.
She said, “Eat it, or you’ll be late.”
I ate so fast, that I can state,
I don’t know what I just ate.
Don’t Count Sheep
I laid down and tried to sleep.
I tossed and turned, so I counted sheep.
The sheep were driving a new red jeep.
They picked up some chickens, peep, peep, peep.
The jeep got stuck when the mud got deep.
The horn kept honking, beep, beep, beep.
It got so loud I couldn’t sleep.
Next time I won’t count those sheep.
Frog Prince
Joy found a frog all covered in soil.
She carried him home in a piece of foil.
“I have a good reason to rejoice,”
Joy exclaimed in a joyful voice.
“My kiss will break this enchanted spell.”
She kissed the frog. There’s no more to tell.
Joy wanted a prince, handsome and loyal.
Instead she learned . . . not all frogs are royal.
