We don’t think we can make a successful site for free written and audio short stories without short story contributions from others.  All contributors to Stories That Lift retain the original copyright to their submissions.  Thus, virtually all material on the site is protected by copyright.  

By using, and contributing to this site and our audio stories you are agreeing to the terms and conditions described here. 

Copyright on StoriesThatLift.com can be summarized in four categories:

1. Written but no Longer Under Copyright Protection We have selected to publish several classic texts that are no longer covered by copyright protection.  Generally, these are texts that have been widely available in many forms and the author has been deceased for more than 70 years.  We have adapted these stories to be suitable for StoriesThatLift.
2. Our Copyrighted Material Copyright for many of the materials on the StoriesThatLift website belongs to the owners of StoriesThatLift.com, Potential Heights LLC.  These materials include written material, photographs, audio presentations, and artwork produced by Potential Heights and other material originated by StoriesThatLift or Potential Heights LLC. This material may not be reproduced for commercial use in any form - written, printed, electronic, or audio.
3. Third Party Copyrighted Material This material includes clip art and other specific artwork from third parties.  This material is protected by their copyright policies.   
4. Author Copyright The copyright to new published stories is retained by the author, but published by StoriesThatLift.com and Potential Heights with the author’s permission. 

The Copyright laws of the United States govern the rights of all material published on StoriesThatLift.com.  We have not attempted to fully explain all those rights, nor do we imply that they are restricted to the descriptions offered here.

You may download our written and audio stories for your personal, family, and friends’ non-commercial use and enjoyment, subject to retaining copyright notices and attributing authors/producers.

You may play our audio stories to small groups provided you do not transmit or broadcast it to wider audiences than the immediate group.  Additionally, you are not permitted to modify, edit or remove copyright notices and attributions to authors/producers

You may transmit or broadcast a short segment of our audio (up to two minutes in length) for purposes of review, subject to attributing the work to StoriesThatLift.com.

Any commercial use of our written or audio stories is STRICTLY PROHIBITED without written notice specifically granted by Potential Heights or StoriesThatLift.com.

You may NOT use our written or audio material in any way that suggests an association with other products, services, or companies.

Before using any of our written or audio material in any way other than those described here, you must have written permission from StoriesThatLift.com or Potential Heights.  Send any request to: tomq@storiesthatlift.com.

All the permissions granted on this site are currently available, however we reserve the right to withdraw or change them at any time.  We further reserve the right to require you to stop using our materials if we consider your use inappropriate or inconsistent with our policies – this, notwithstanding the permissions we have granted here.
